I thought he had one as well. But closest he came was 2nd in 05.

That was the year he should have won it. 06 the Sox kind of sucked IIRC.cutuphalfdead wrote:I thought he had one as well. But closest he came was 2nd in 05.

06 the Sox were pretty good up until that August 5 game weekend series with the Yankees, where I think the Yankees won all 5 games by a combined score of about 75-10...and while that's an exaggeration, it's probably not as much of one as you might think at first looknumbers wrote:That was the year he should have won it. 06 the Sox kind of sucked IIRC.cutuphalfdead wrote:I thought he had one as well. after that series, the team went into the tank

Yeah, I just remember them bringing in people off the streets to start games at the end of the year.MattA75 wrote:06 the Sox were pretty good up until that August 5 game weekend series with the Yankees, where I think the Yankees won all 5 games by a combined score of about 75-10...and while that's an exaggeration, it's probably not as much of one as you might think at first looknumbers wrote:That was the year he should have won it. 06 the Sox kind of sucked IIRC.cutuphalfdead wrote:I thought he had one as well. A-Rod was better than Ortiz in 05.numbers wrote:That was the year he should have won it. 06 the Sox kind of sucked IIRC.cutuphalfdead wrote:I thought he had one as well. But closest he came was 2nd in 05.
I remember sitting at AT&T Park talking to a Giants fan in August of 2006 and he had the local paper with him. He showed me a write up in the sports section about Ortiz's crazy numbers w/RISP. He was hitting something like .750 in those situations that year, at least at that time.

Re: Boston Red Sox Thread
NBC sports shared a link on Facebook calling that the 'play of the year'. Bullshit.

Dustin Pedroia has 11 hits in his last 11 at bats. One more consecutive hit ties the major league record.

Re: Boston Red Sox Thread
Pedroia is the smartest hitter in baseball right now; he's hitting the ball into every hole the defense gives him. Then again, it's the A's.
