You JUST put it up last night, right? Many people are at work and maybe haven't even seen it yet.

I tend to listen to these in 10 min chunks. Liked the fist ten minutes I listened too this morning.

I listened to about 20 minutes last night before falling asleep. Love VG's voice. Can't wait to finish.

I do understand the criticism of "indie-film-ness." And I like the description of the aesthetic being a lack of aesthetic.

But I'm not sure it's any worse than the homogenized action films out there today. Or any other genre. While I do agree that the specific lack of visual style you're talkinga bout is especially problematic in the indie genre, I don't see it as being any worse than it is in other genres.

For me it's much more about the storytelling and the characters. It doesn't have to be original, it just has to be interesting on its own.

Lynch is also good with making people uncomfortable with quiet (Kubrick too, obviously). LOVE that shit. I really need to see The Neon Demon.

TVG, good call about The Avengers and the excitement being primarily that it was something we thought could never happen on screen. I think that was actually a big part of what made that movie fun because the replay value on that thing, with a bit of distance especially, is awful.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, TV is so exciting right now. Not just in its content but in its aesthetic and its craft. TV is far more exciting and (in some cases) more cinematic than some of these churn and burn movies we're seeing.

If I could give you one gift, TVG, it would be excitement for Rogue One.
