Wow. That's fucked up. Grounds crews just aren't what they used to be, I guess.

Something about Russell Wilson reminds me of OJ Simpson.

I don't blame Joey Bosa one bit. Don't sign until you like the contract period.

Take your offset language and your failure to pony up money for YOUR OWN DAMN STADIUM and shove it up your ass.

Screw the Chargers.

HA HA, Bonnie Lindros. Nice pull.

Seriously though, this is Ryan Leaf's fault.

No, it really isn't. It is the once-in-a-while stupidity of some kid and/or his family.

Why is the player and or his family stupid? He's going to make money and a lot of it this year or next whether it's paid by the Chargers or not. The entire league is desperate for pass rushers and he was one of the best in college. They already spent the 3rd overall pick in the draft on him. If he's not there week one, it's the Chargers fault, not Bosa's because no contract has been signed. It's the Chargers job to get him on the field. This is kind of like the CBA, people love to throw the NFL's power in the players faces.... well, the decision, is not to sign on the line which is dotted, until you are comfortable with the language.

Bosa (and or his agents) don't want to sign a contract that requires them to pay bonus money back to the chargers. It's the Chargers that are ultimately screwed by playing hardball with this. Their pass rush still sucks and they don't have a 1st round pick in camp... why? Because they are afraid of getting talent evaluation wrong and paying bonus money too a bust. This could and should have been done in April. Now they are trying to embarrass the guy they DESPERATELY wanted to help their football team because of offset language? What would be his incentive to sign now? Sit out, wait for the draft, or FA next year. It's not like he's not going to make an NFL team.

The other problem for Bosa is that because he "held out", people are going to be all over him to produce early and likely San Diego/LA Fans are going to be done with him already unless he's immediately great.

But seriously, A lot of this issue is with the league in general and how they treat the salary cap.

If it's called a signing/roster/showup bonus and you cut me, why the hell would I then pay you back money I earned to play with you because I found a new job and you didn't want me anymore?

I ultimately don't even care about Joey Bosa, I'm just glad someone is standing up to the oh it's slotted, you have to agree what we say system NFL teams are trying to run. They are trying to bully the guy now and it's their fault.

Why doesn't the clock stop when a ball carrier goes out of bounds? The play I'm asking about was not one where he clearly had his forward momentum stopped before going out.

Depends on how much time is left.
With the exception of the last two minutes of the first half and the last five minutes of the second half, the game clock will be restarted following a kickoff return, a player going out of bounds on a play from scrimmage, or after declined penalties when appropriate on the referee’s signal.

Anyone who thinks Bosa is the fuckup here is delusional. Bosa just wants the same contract given to other players at his spot since 2011. The whole slotted contract system was created to make signing rookies super easy, which it has been for literally every other team. The Chargers decided to fight an extremely stupid battle with a player they supposedly coveted during the entire draft process. It's insanely stupid on their part.

In other news, Zeke and Dak Prescott both look great. It is fucking mind-boggling to me that both a kicker and Christian Hackenburg were taken over Dak.

Good thing; Romo lasted all of three plays. He probably has a broken back. :o

Agree on the Bosa/Chargers thing.

to be fair, the Bucs certainly didn't need a QB when they drafted the kicker.

It was more "you could've had anyone else," not saying they should've picked Dak. Sorry if that was confusing.
