It had been in storage for about 12 years until recently. I actually forgot i had it, my parents recently moved and said there was some stuff in their attic that belonged to me. That was one of the things.

I have heard that direct drive is bad for long-term preservation. Can you dispel this notion?

No one really answered this question. Am I going to wreck this record by giving it one listen?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

One listen, probably not. But I wouldn't do even three spins on a record I cared about.
Our library has a high-end player hooked up to a Mac, and I have an appointment to digitize this, but I didn't want to wait until Friday.

I haven't received my copy yet and don't want to wait any longer either. Has anyone digitized this that would be willing to share with us?

I don't really know. I used it and another one constantly for a couple years, then this one I still have was in storage forever and when I got it out, new needle is all it needed.
