It had been in storage for about 12 years until recently. I actually forgot i had it, my parents recently moved and said there was some stuff in their attic that belonged to me. That was one of the things.cutuphalfdead wrote:well yeahE.H. Ruddock wrote:I kept one of my 1200's from my rave/DJing phase. It's 20 years old and still working great

No one really answered this question. Am I going to wreck this record by giving it one listen?B wrote:Is this an "over-time" thing or a "one play and it's fucked" thing?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Our library has a high-end player hooked up to a Mac, and I have an appointment to digitize this, but I didn't want to wait until Friday.tragabigzanda wrote:One listen, probably not. I haven't received my copy yet and don't want to wait any longer either. Has anyone digitized this that would be willing to share with us?B wrote: I have an appointment to digitize this, but I didn't want to wait until Friday.

I don't really know. I used it and another one constantly for a couple years, then this one I still have was in storage forever and when I got it out, new needle is all it needed.tragabigzanda wrote:I have heard that direct drive is bad for long-term preservation.
