enlightenment? You think the US of A is in danger of wandering off of the path of enlightenment?

Is there an enlightened segment of our country, or more pertinently our government, that I have sorely missed?

When did I call the US enlightened? I stated that choosing a big mouthed ass doesn't help any in that goal. Pay the fuck attention

I didn't say you called the U.S. "enlightened". I inferred from your comment that you think electing Trump over Hillary would somehow move this country further from it's goal of enlightenment, which is just silly on multiple levels. Then I asked where I might find information that would lead me to the same hypothesis, albeit a rhetorical question.

What question?

Oh ok, so your reply is basically, "that's silly"

Excellent reply. So glad you explained in such well thought out language, so helpful.

And you're back peddling also.

How so? I seem to be expending all of my time explaining why your hackneyed comments are just as shallow as the "uneducated, poor people" you are quick to throw out. Sorry if I didnt think it was prudent to crack open the relevance of enlightenment in regards to the current American political landscape.

know lots of black/otherwise ethnic trump fans, do you?
How is that relevant to your claim, either way?
what are you saying? It's relevant to the "supposed" direction the country goes forward in. Do you want an openly racist and idiotic man leading a group of like minded people? I don't. See I can't do anything about how a large part of the society thinks, but I can sure see the danger in that particular outcome.

explain better because I don't understand what you're looking for with that question.
Let's try again, as it seems this is where things got convoluted.

No. I personally don't know a lot of minority Trump supporters. I don't personally know a lot of minority people period. Probably 25-50 on a first name basis. I certainly don't know all or most of their political beliefs. I live in a city of about 200k people in the Midwest and am from an even smaller town. Each have a minority population of about 30% I believe. If I had to give my best educated guess, and here it is, I think a majority would vote democrat, especially in a post-Obama world. These are (mostly) baptists who live and work and play with (mostly) Catholics and other Christian affiliates without much ado. Thus, it would not surprise me to find out a good portion of them place more value on their conservative beliefs than on issues of immigration or whatever the latest Trump hot take one liner is.

Moving forward, I ask, how is that relevant to your assertion that everyone who supports trump must be a racist moron that longs for the good old days when lynching and domestic battery were normal? It's a fair question, because I think that your viewpoint is shared by most anti-Trumpers, but it fails to leave the door open for discussion, and is ultimately damaging to the left's cause.

As for your last question in that post. No. I don't want Trump to win. I think he is ill-prepared for the job and a danger to our national security.

Two corrections: Evansville only has a population of 120k, but that's not counting the city next door and the one across the bridge, which would put us around 150k for the "area".

The minority population is closer to 20%.

I had the notion that this kid's Trump shirt was born from the same place that made me get a mohawk when I was younger. Sometimes people just like to be contrarian...
That's very true. The biggest, loudest Trump supporters I know are also "proud" to be flat-earthers, creationists, unapologetic racists, homophobes, etc....arrogant and pious to the extreme, but always playing the victim card too, which is an insufferable combination. They actually think it's "funny" that Trump is upsetting people. Big confederate flags on the backs of their trucks even though they are in Pennsylvania, driving through the Latino ghettos all proud of themselves. They are just loser scum, looking for attention. Walking trolls. And because of Trump, they think they are vindicated now, and they blame "political correctness" for the fact that there is any dissension at all.

If Trump took a shit in his hand and then smeared it all over his face, they would find a way to make it "good for our country", because they secretly enjoy the fact that he is a total dick and they want it to continue no matter what. I have never heard so much nonsense justification for voting for somebody.

That's true. They are also elderly white racists. Sorry for leaving that out.
