Lukin interruption
I am not a musician, never been in a band, so those of you who have those skills and experience, tell me how hard it was to resume Lukin like they did.
I was an athlete, in particular a baseball player, and I always marvel when I watch MLB players routinely turn a 6-4-3 double play, sometimes 3 or 4 in a game, knowing it's not as easy as they make it look, that in high school ball, even college ball, for a dp to be turned the ball has to be hit hard, the fielder has to get to it, field it cleanly, deliver a good throw in rhythm to 2nd where the other fielder has to be there waiting to catch it in rhythm and synchronized foot work etc., and the relay throw still has to have enough on it to beat the runner to first and be catch-able. Usually in high school, with players who have played the game for 12 years or so, it still requires the runner to either fall down or be really really slow.
So, I watch the band shut the song down, a song with very fast tempo, at Ed's request. The vids I watched dont really show any communication between among the band members, no "OK Stone, we're gonna pick it up at 'I found my key' you ready?" just a count to 4 and back at it. Maybe a trained ear notices something wrong there, but to this dude who just likes to listen to music, it seemed like everyone was on the same page. How hard is this to pull off?

"Lukin" is an incredibly simple song, musically. It's essentially just three power chords over and over again. So when they kick back into the song, the band knows instinctively to jump in from the top of the main verse riff. Then they simply take their cue from Ed's vocal as to when to end the song.

I can play it on my guitar! I mean, back when I had a guitar, I could play it. The only song I could play start to finish. I am a rock GOD.

I wish I could even do that - my wife's grandfather still, at 85, plays in a square dance band. He gave me a guitar, cant get my hands to contort into an F chord to save my life.

I think it's weird that as a right-handed person you do most of the intricate work on a guitar with your left hand.

They've done it with other songs occasionally. It is pretty cool to hear that happen.

I like that the pace gets even faster when they kick back into it.

Re: Lukin interruption
lmao I dunno why but Eddie stopping the show and then just jumping right back into total gibberish cracks me up.
Anyways Eddie says 1,2,3,4 so I dunno whats impressive about it. I mean the song is the same four chords played over and over again
