Possibly, though neither are great

I don't think Batman Forever is anywhere near as good as Batman.

The Schumacher aesthetic didn't work for me initially, but it grew on me...like a fungus.

His aesthetic didn't bother me in Batman Forever. I quite liked a lot of what he did with that movie, actually. He jumped the shark in Batman & Robin though and directed himself right into one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Of course, I loved it when I first saw it in the theater. Part of that was how much fun I had watching something that was a callback to the old TV series (sort of) and then another big part was just being all hipster about it and wanting to like something that everyone else so clearly hated.

But when I watched it the second time, I couldn't escape how truly terrible it is. Truly terrible. I wanted to like it but my god...

It's basically a reboot of Burton's first movie directed by Joel Schumacher.
Wat
Flavor of the week hot blond as the female lead. Crazy guy jumping around wearing green and shouting. Origin story about a kid falling into a hole in the ground. Phrase "I'm Batman" used with dramatic affect. Take away the neon lights and Robin and they're basically the same movie.
WHAT.

You havent seen Burton´s Batman right?

It's sort of like how Home Alone is a remake of Die Hard, because they're both about guys who are unerappreciated by their families getting trapped in a building on Christmas, trying to thwart criminals with their wits.

I'm watching the cartoon The Batman (now on netflix). It's quite good. Nicely stylized, and the action is very well animated. Alfred has a nice wry sense of humor, and pretty good characterizations with the villains. The Bruce Wayne character is younger (mid 20s, maybe--this is supposed to be a few years into his career), and he plays that pretty well. More infatuated with being Batman than obsessed with it.

Exactly. And because both leads are named Kevin.
