As a guy who does a good job making movies that deal with mythological themes, he's probably down on ham-fisted presentations of them.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I never saw that or passion. Hacksaw ridge got a 10 minute standing ovation at whatever festival it was debuted at. I am intrigued.

I still haven't seen it. But man I sure wanted to when it came out. I was so excited for it. Then it left theaters and I haven't sought the thing out. But it looks outstanding. If it's half as good as Passion it's still a GREAT film.
