I've not been keeping this thread up to date, however the tour has resumed with the two Honolulu and the Auckland shows out of the way this week. Nothing new to the sets, though Screw was played in Honolulu for the first time in quite a few shows and Catch turned up in Auckland which had only been played a handful of times this year otherwise.

Seeing them Friday next week!

This was pretty good.
Adelaide, AUS - 29 July

Open
Kyoto Song
A Night Like This
Push
In Between Days
Primary
Last Dance
Pictures of You
Closedown
High
Lovesong
Friday I'm in Love
Just Like Heaven
From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea
Want
The Hungry Ghost
One Hundred Years
End

It Can Never Be The Same
Shake Dog Shake
Burn
A Forest

Lullaby
Fascination Street
Never Enough
Wrong Number

The Lovecats
The Caterpillar
The Walk
Close to Me

Hot Hot Hot!!!
Let's Go to Bed
Why Can't I Be You?
Boys Don't Cry
The band seemed to be in great spirits and played well but the guy sitting next to me kept stretching out over his seat and into half of mine and it ended up kind of ruining the vibe for me. Nevertheless, was thrilled to hear Kyoto Song, Primary and Last Dance.

Cool one spenno. Looking forward to seeing them tomorrow (Sunday).

Me and the missus are seats 1 and 2 in our row, so I ain't planning on sitting next to anyone to whom I can't fairly and reasonably cop a feel.

I'm going in with an open mind - they can play me whatever they like. I'm sure I'll love it.

A mate who went to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide said Adeaide was the pick of them. Sounded like a great show.

I like that one except for the splishy-splashy trip-hop Buffy the Vampire Slayer percussion track

I know, it's awful.

Robert seems to have been really into that kind of thing around that time.

I've read (I think in Roger O'Donnell's Disintegration reminiscence article that was/is on his website) that Lol came up with the musical sketch that became Homesick and that's one of my favourite things on the album.

I recall Roger saying in the same article that, as a "hilarious" prank, they intentionally gave Lol the wrong power supply and fried all his synths shortly into the recording process. Poor Lol.

Wow, I'd never read that. I didn't know anything about this!
I think it’s pretty much common knowledge how Lol was treated in those days, very very badly. Im not innocent either but then again he didn’t really do himself any favours, he was drunk most of the time and when he was trying to stay sober we would do all we could to get him drunk again. He barely played anything on the record and I think some of the things he did play I had to play again while he wasn’t there. It was pretty sad looking back the way he was victimised but it was sort of funny at the time, or was it ? He would usually be so drunk after dinner that he would go straight to bed only to get up at about 2am and come wandering into the studio and say everything sounded like shit. He would then decide he was hungry and would go and cook himself something which we would all do our best to ruin, he would still eat it though… Happily Lol is now healthy and happy and not drinking and hopefully he forgives us for what went on then…

I also found Roger's comments about working with Ross Robinson very interesting. Simon also seemed to hate it. The only person happy with Robinson seemed to be Robert. I'd be very curious to read more about the process of recording the 2004 album. Seems like a tense time.
