I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It was a joke. There is no Tom Waits biopic.tragabigzanda wrote:There's five mins left, and I don't believe he's mentioned it once. Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
That's the joke. There was talk about it a thousand years ago and nothing ever came of it. I'm not convinced it was ever a real thing, actually. But once a month somebody posts something about a "confirmed" Tom Waits biopic starring Ron Perlman. It's hilarious. It's a rumor that just won't die.tragabigzanda wrote:Was it killed? I'm still listening through old episodes of Sword and Scale. It's really good but holy fucking shit do I hate the host. What a total chode.

Haha I just googled Sword and Scale and a bunch of people had the same reaction to the same exact episode https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMyst ... ad_a_talk/

The good outweighs the bad, but sometimes I do want to reach into my headphones and slap the guy around. His dramatic editing flourishes are also corny as all fuck. Stuff like...

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Yeah, I don't think I could deal with that.
Sometimes I think I should start a podcast. I already have a decent mic and preamp, so I could get away with just getting a cheap USB interface and using Audacity. But I don't know if the world needs another podcast.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Of course it does, bart. Say something good if you've got something to say. Sure, there are a lot of podcasts---but most of them are real dreck. If you can put together something valuable, that's worth doing.
Please consider voting for me

The world may not need Bart's podcast, but I do.

You should hear Kevin Smith's argument about starting a podcast. It boils down to this (as his version is more verbose) - just fucking do it.bart wrote:Yeah, I don't think I could deal with that.
