Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. He's up there. I might be variously convinced it's Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, or Jesse Plemons. Given a few more projects, Adam Driver might give them all a run for their money...

I'd say Dano's performance in There Will Be a Blood is my favorite. Gyllenhaal's got Donnie Darko, Nightcrawler, and Brokeback Mountain.

Yeah, Gyllenhaal is absolutely up there. So is Driver (like you said, depending on what comes next). I have to eliminate Plemmons for sure. And Dano... I want him to be the best of his generation, but I think he's hit his ceiling. That's what worries me about him.
