Re: What are you currently reading?
Downloaded the new Bolaño poetry collection, hoping I can convert it to a readable format for my Kindle! I'm actually a fan of his poetry, so I'm pretty stoked.

What did you think of Train Dreams?Simple Torture wrote:Original thread: http://archive.theskyiscrape.com/viewto ... 9cdd6110a8
Over the last week (or two):
Denis Johnson - "Train Dreams"
Mariane Hauser - "The Talking Room"
E.L. Doctorow - "Ragtime"

Oh, I really liked it. I've never read any of Johnson's longer novels, but I really think his short books are great character studies. It'll only take an afternoon to read it if you haven't yet!

Just read Breakfast of Champions and Jailbird. I've read Slaughterhouse Five and Cat's Cradle already, so is there any specific Vonnegut that stands out as being the best of what's left that I should go for next?

galapagos is very good
slapstick is another of my favorites
and his non-fiction writing, in the form of speeches, articles whatever - I think I enjoy them more than his novels- and I actually love his novels - anyway - Palm Sunday, and Wampeters, Foma and Granfalloons are the 2 that spring to mind.

How many participants of this thread (and all previous incarnations of this thread) just post pictures of books, and not books they're reading?

Re: What are you currently reading?
I know this doesn't answer your question, but I stopped posting pictures of books and I wish others would follow suit because it makes it harder to search. In other words, if I'm interested in a book and want to do a search on here to see if anyone has read it and what they thought, the search does not pickup the image.durdencommatyler wrote:How many participants of this thread (and all previous incarnations of this thread) just post pictures of books, and not books they're reading?
I'll be the one in the lobby in the green fuck me shirt. The green one.
