I have no reservations accepting any of their other albums as greater works of art, but S-K are not a band I really connect with on a deeper level; therefore I tend to just gravitate toward the stuff I enjoy most on the surface. Honestly before "No Cities" came out the one I tended to reach for was "All Hands On the Bad One."

But No Cities is your favorite?

The right answer is either The Woods, One Beat, All Hands On the Bad One or Dig Me Out.

While I think TW is far superior to the others, yes, I would say this is correct.

This thread inspired me to give it another spin. My goodness, I had forgotten how much I love Surface Envy.

The Wild Flag record is cool. I kind of wish it had been a Sleater Kinney record.

Lots of things are > No Cities to Love

Doesn't change the fact that it's a great record. :bammer:

I still really love No Cities to Love, its one the best albums of 2015 and about the 5th best S-K album.

No Cities to Love is great but yes, it's about the fifth best S-K album. And yes, The Woods is the best S-K album, the best album of 2005 and maybe even the best album of its respective decade. To be a Sleater-Kinney fan in 2005 was truly a great time - there's nothing like seeing your favorite band release its masterpiece. There's just no explaining the feeling I got hearing it for the first time. It just jumps out of the speakers. And then I was lucky enough to see them three times on that tour, and the songs are even better live.
