Is it? I feel like anyone who actually saw it, loved it. Even the crew at Collider Movie Talk rave about it and they're pretty mainstream movie fans, typically.

I still haven't seen it, though.

To really grasp the greatness of this movie I would say that you def have to have some interest in Jesse James or the old west, and also you need to fully immerse yourself meaning no distractions. Its almost like a documentary in a way but the acting/cinematography are soo good and its very accurate as far capturing the feel of how life was in the 1880s

Also Its def not a shoot em up western, its moody, haunting and slow paced

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

...where good movies go to die (in my case, at least).
aw huh

I still have the physical disc option and I was going through my queue today to update and rearrange some things. I've had the same two movies on disc for over a year and a half.

Will do, friend.

Do we have a thread for ranking Brad Pitt movies? I should do that.

The Assassination of Jesse James is a fine movie. I like revisionist westerns well enough but I miss the fun ones.

The first time I watched Jesse James, I liked it.

The second time, I loved it.

The third time, I recognized it as juvenile bullshit.
