Hopefully this sirens track is on there...and hopefully it's as good as whats been reported.

It would be awesome if after 20 years they release a song or a album that's just epic and kicks the world in the ass.

There I go setting myself up again....Album #10 will probably just end up being a logical extension of Backspacer, and Sirens will probably sound like a mix between Amongst the Waves and Inside Job.

Ha ha, this kind of thinking reminds me of the build-up to S/T. When they first revealed just the blue corner of the front cover I think most people assumed that it was somehow complimentary or related to all the new artwork that had just been posted on the site. Instead, we got a freaking avocado.... And a zombie pyramid!!! So much for speculation.

Let's be honest, 99% of whether or not most people think an album name is good is based on what they think of the album. Most album names are pretty mundane and ordinary. Ten? Vitalogy? No Code? None of those are inherently great titles. non-descript. They're pretty But I bet a lot of us here think that they are because of our attachment to the records themselves.

X as a title skews a little bit to the tacky side for my sensibilities, but if it's a great record I'll probably never give it a second though. I mean, if an album called Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness can be great, then just about any title can get stuck to a great piece of work.

If "veevee" is right (and hey, why not) and this thing is like a guided by voices, all over the map affair making it difficult to categorize, then X would work that way as well.
