Fun watch :) guy who plays Kanan goes up against the guy who plays Maul in Rebels, in a movie trivia showdown. Mostly Star Wars questions. Deffo think the Maul guy (Sam Whittwer? ) could play a hound Henry Rollins. Watch for the interview at the end. Great fun match:)

Ok. Not kidding. Watching the season 3 premiere.

How the fuck are they getting away with this on a Disney kids channel?

This is darker than anything we've seen in a Star Wars film apart from the volcano and anakin

Just finished this episode.

This show is awesome. Nails the spirit of Star Wars while still being its own animal.

That was so satisfying and enjoyable.

I've been watching Season 2. One of the thing that occurs to me is that they depend a lot on knocking Stormtroopers out by slamming their heads together or into things. Why the fuck do those guys wear helmets? They're completely worthless.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Yeah, that was a very solid season 3 debut. And Dime is actually right. The outright killing of stormtroopers in very violent (by star wars standards) was something i noticed as well.

It's not just that it's the way he's doing it. He's gonna go dark sooner rather than later

I dont think so. I think he'll tiptoe to the line and Kanan will bring him back. Kanan is about to become a badass I think, and Im assuming he'll die at the hands of Vader leading up to wherever Rogue One starts timeline wise. They're doing a very good job of emphasizing that the rebellion is very scattered and about to unite. The thing I cant figure out is how are they going to kill of Kanan and Ezra because they don't exist in 4-7. Unless they do the "hiding away on a planet" thing.

And ahsoka. Remember she's still out there. And Maul.

I think they don't necessarily have to kill either off. Just cos they're out there doesn't mean we have to see them. We never hear of grand inquisitors in the OT for example.

I think leaving 2 jedi masters just floating out there without any resolution or mention later on seems like an odd choice to introduce in the first place. Especially the insistence on this being the first "canon" thing release post disney acquisition.

Also true. I thought they wouldn't kill them off as it's a kids show essentially. But now I'm not sure. Funnily enough they're neither of them as popular as ahsoka. She went from most reviled character in the clone wars series to fan favourite. Has her own book coming out n everything. Her arc with the Jedi and leaving etc is fantastic.

Late in season 2: Use of "parsecs" as a measure of distance. C'mon, Star Wars! What is it?

Parsecs is used in sw as a measure of using certain hyperspace lanes to get point a to point q but by using the shortest route. So as in science it's about distance. Not about time.

Yeah, after I posted that I googled it. According to Wookipedia, it's a measure of distance even the SW universe, but Han Solo uses it as a measure of time when bragging about the Millennium Falcon. No further explanation.

No. he's talking about it on the same terms I just did. It's interpreted he means speed. He never says or implies that. He just says parsecs.

Why wouldn't you roll with it, though? "Oh, parsec, in the Star Wars universe is a measurement of time." Done. It's a language from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Why would you try to shoehorn in uses of it as distance later?
