Whaaat, can you explain why? I can understand not liking The Whole Love (even though I think it's good) but thinking Summerteeth is bad is weird to me.

Yea, I guess I hate the combination of the production, which is too bright and airy, with the songwriting, which is too boring. It's a shiny, happy, boring record.

Growing and growing and growing, this album...
It's the rare record that can perfectly accompany a variety of moods, without ever offending a given sensibility. Like, I'll be looking for something to listen to while I make dinner, and my inner monologue goes something like this:

"Nah, not Radiohead, too depressing for where I'm at right now. Not Steve Reich, too ethereal. Not Primus, too weird. Not A Ghost Is Born, too heady...Eureka! Wilco Schmilco will entertain without making me feel anything other than content."

This record has its own place within their discography. Terrific stuff, and not a bad song in the bunch.

Yea, for me its good background music. Which has its place, but nothing stops me in my tracks and forces me to dig in and listen. Nothing super memorable. its all just super nice.

Thats my opinion and im sticking to it.

i haven't listened to this since last week

This albums seems to get weirder with each listen. It's seems so simple at first but there's all this off-kilter stuff going on. I now kinda love Common Sense and Nope.

sbs is my least favorite (despite having two of wilco's best tracks), but i'm one of the few that likes wilco the album slightly more

Wilco (The Album) plays like a greatest hits collection, even thought it's all new material. It's an easy listen if you're a Wilco fan, but every song reminds me of something else already in their catalog.

Star Wars is friggin' awesome, I don't get how a longtime Wilco fan couldn't enjoy that one.

star wars really grabbed me after the second listen, but it just hasn't stuck with me like the best of their other works
