The reports of "early morning" were confusing--the Coast Guard arrived at 3am, so it was the middle of the night.

So they were going too fast and hit something they didn't see. Sad.

That's one of the most emotional baseball moments I've ever seen. Damn. The team banging on the railing got me choked up before all the hugs and tears even started.

I'm overly emotional right now, but man if that didn't give me chills. Also, that trumpet version of Take Me Out To the Ballgame was heartbreakingly beautiful.

Unbelievable.

The best part of the whole thing was that Severino threw at Smoak twice in a row while a warning was in place, then walked back onto the mound after the brawl cleared out as if nothing had happened and acted shocked when the umps told him he was gone.

While the video board is showing his funeral, the field is doing it's best to recreate the accident scene.

It's nice to have a team in the playoff conversation. Forgot what this feels like.

I somehow had no idea Seattle hadn't made the playoffs since that ridiculous 2001 season. Crazy.

Pretty much. Getting an exciting final weekend with Justin Verlander pitching is about as good as I could have hoped for.
