So this is what the consensus seems to be now. Pence won because Kaine was erratic and interrupted too much. Also some speculation that Pence was presenting himself as a future presidential candidate for 2020.theplatypus wrote:Interrupting is not a good look! Also stop being so jittery!

Surprised I haven't read a "Hurricane as October Surprise?" headline yet.

I'm sure it'll make a great bumper sticker. The Argonaut wrote:Yes, that's a winning argument.Simple Torture wrote:It's interesting that the "deplorable" comment didn't come up with Trump/Clinton but came up here. Kaine/Clinton have got to come up with a better defense than just "she apologized"--maybe make the point that, "If you are racist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, or whatever, you are deplorable. Perhaps she overestimated the number, but we stand by that word for anyone who looks at another person and sees them as lesser just because of who they are." Does that make sense?

And as a 100% service Connected medically retired Vet, then I have to disagree with you. If you are going to wear the pin that says your family member is serving, then wear the damn thing correctly! If he was in the military he would receive an article 15 for being out of uniform and not displaying his ribbons correctly

Here's a scenario to imagine: a hurricane on Election Day. What happens if several swaths of the nation can't vote in their precincts because they had to evacuate beforehand? Looking at the Constitution, I don't see anything stopping states from holding a later Election Day or from Congress tallying the electors at a later date. But in today's political climate, who knows...4/5 wrote:Surprised I haven't read a "Hurricane as October Surprise?" headline yet.

Re: Election 2016
Let's get real morbid: what about a terrorist attack on election day? If you were sympathetic to ISIS and trying to spread fear and undermine the day-to-day business of the US, trying to break up the electoral process would be a great way to do it. Why not head over to your local polling place at 8:00AM when there's a long line right before people go to work? There's usually only one cop there (side note: I'd make a great terrorist).Green Habit wrote:Here's a scenario to imagine: a hurricane on Election Day.
