Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

He did some really great indie work in the late 80s/early 90s. Jungle Fever, Do the Right Thing, Fresh, Menace II Society. But 100 years from now, he'll be remembered for the one-note character he's been doing for the last decade, and Pulp Fiction.

Not really indie, but he was also in Coming to America.

I don't particularly care for Sam Jackson in either role. But if you're gonna make me pick one, I have to go with Fury. I at least get him in that role. Mace Windu is a complete miscast. An uninteresting character that doesn't fit into the world at all. If I didn't know better I would think he was digitally added to the movies 20 years later for the Special Editions.
