That made field goal isn't redemption though. They need to get rid of Aguayo

Ugh, that game was brutal. Ugly as hell. Koetter is coaching scared now. The 1st down run on over 80% of the time is a legit give up call. I didn't see Koetter going that route. Disappointed, and the bucs desperately need some speed on offense.

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
very ugly game, but they won even though the whole D line was injured and they were playing with a 3rd string RB ( who was great btw ). a win is a win and since i dont look for Aguayo to be going anywhere any time soon i really hope he has some of his confidence back after that game winning kick. im not sure what to think about Koetter, he definitely looked to be coaching scared last night but could it in any way be part of the "culture" change he is going for? i feel like it is the wrong way to do it but could he be him demanding his players to earn his trust by coaching away from their bad habits until they show they are improved? Jameis has been struggling with turnovers in the first quarter and they ran on almost every play in the first. again i dont like the idea of that but could it be how Koetter is trying to turn things around?

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
im pretty sure Koetter and a lot on the team are few up with Aguayo but there are examples of rookie kickers struggling and turning it around, so with him costing a 2nd round pick i think he is gonna get the season to try and show what he can do. i think he is 4 of 8 right now and if i heard gruden right last night i think Janikowski was like 7 of 14 his rookie year before starting to turn it around and kicked 82% his 2nd year. obviously with the kicking troubles this team has had in the recent past we all want that to be over and done with, so i would love to see them bring in some competition for him but i think he will get the season to turn things around before getting cutE.H. Yeah that's got to be Koetter's mind set which is troubling. I don't think it's a good sign at all. If you want a young quarterback to grow, and move away from bad habits you don't show a complete lack of confidence in him by running the ball until it's third and nine. You don't consistently put him in obvious passing downs. You call short passing plays on 1st down. It's the best down for passing the ball.

Another aguayo miss. I don't care if you blew a second round pick on him, you can't keep a kicker that averages over one miss per game.

I agree. It's tough watching him miss over and over.
Positives though, it was great to see Russell Shepard get some playing time and do well. A second WR that gets separation! What are the chances!?
Winston threw some dimes.

Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Oh yeah I agree. Winston looked good, made some good throws, and even took a sack when he could have thrown it wildly for an interception, but didn't. The thing is, that was the niners, so when it comes down to closer games, like the Raiders next week at home, they really need to have confidence in their kicker. If the Bucs don't want to seriously contend for a playoff spot this year, then fine, keep him and see if he improves. But there is no way he doesn't lose at least one more game for them at this rate.

And now the Bucs have a chance to drive down a kick a field goal for the win. :/
