One wonderful irony of this election is that Bill Clinton probably thought electing Hillary would be a kind of affirmation of his legacy. In last night's debate, on multiple occasions he responded by simply saying "the answer might surprise you", and then slowly walked backward until he disappeared behind the curtain draping the rear of the stage.
