If this is limited to a tour announcement, album name and track listing with release date, I'd be slightly disappointed.

In terms of PR stunts or generating publicity, you really want a "Countdown Clock" to deliver, so that you can use that tactic again.

In this case, I think a free download of the first single is in order - at least for 10C members.

It will be pretty annoying if any of this will be 10 club only. From a marketing perspective it wouldn't make much sense if they want to draw some casuals back into the fold.

But they've released this kind of info before without using an elaborate method. This 7 or 8 day wait has worked and generated a ton of publicity and engagement among fans....I really do think they need to deliver something extra special with this one.

As usual, I don't care about a tour. I live in England and am dirt poor. So if it's just tour news I will be pissed off.

I would be happy with news of an album, a tracklist, artwork if possible, and a streamable single. I don't need to download it; if there's a 10 Club download I won't be too pissed off, as long as I can revisit the stream more than once.

Yeah, you make a good point. I'm just trying to justify my 10C membership at this point. Especially being in the Northeast, where I've lost out on the Vedder solo tour tix, and likely any shows I want out of this tour.

I'm still wondering if the server will crash and we'll have to wait another week for them to fix it before getting any news.

I think it should also be pointed out that we (PJ fans) never asked for some kind of Countdown Clock to deliver news that you typically deliver via email.

This is a good point. Part of me wonders why they would do the countdown clock for news they've delivered before via the simpler route of email. Another part of me thinks that they really like doing superficial snazzy shit like playing with artwork on the website, countdown clocks, and all those things that normally only Rihanna fans would get excited about. The best part of me doesn't really give a shit.

I'm hoping they send the email when the countdown ends because I'm sure their website will crash from the F5's.

That's part of why Im hoping for it to be a double album :D

But i think its just something they have done because they realized its been a looooooong time since their last album, so they know a lot of us will take album info after this long as something special

They didn't use a Countdown Clock for Ole, did they? - and that was free music.

So thinking about this some more, this Countdown Clock, unless it reveals some truly valuable content, is set up to fail.

I'm sure the news will be simul-tweeted.
