that trailer hasn't aged well. It's just that we were all excited for star warsdimejinky99 wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:Faith based on a film's pedigree and the quality of footage revealed so far is not "blind faith."
Let's look up the name George Lucas. Then look up the first trailer for phantom menace.
Probably the best trailer of all time. And then look what happened.

Makes sense. If this is really leading up to 10 minutes before A New Hope.dimejinky99 wrote:So they've dropped things in these ads before. Looks like R2 will be in rogue one
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Faith is always blind, if it's not blind it's not faith. What you're describing here is more like credence. A certain level of belief in something based on evidence shown.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Faith based on a film's pedigree and the quality of footage revealed so far is not "blind faith."

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I watched the latest trailer on my TV last night because my wife hadn't seen it. She doesn't really care one way or the other about Star Wars. She loved TFA and she was in awe of the trailer for Rogue One. She's actually excited for a Star Wars movie.

If they can get loads of those big epic landscape shots in to balance off the battle fatigue Itll be great. Everyone's talking about the fallen Jedi statue.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I better feel battle fatigued during this war film or somebody fucking did something wrong.
Of course everyone is talking about the statue. That and Vader.
Because Star Wars.

If i feel battle fatigued it better be a good fatigue. Saving Private Ryan was a good fatigue. Every michael bay movie is an awful fatigue.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Yeah, that's what I mean though. I think there will be some intentional battle fatigue. They keep saying this is a war film. My hope is that they are able to capture an element of that Saving Private Ryan brand of battle fatigue. Obviously, this won't be as real as that but they should still be able to make me feel the toll of the war. And the tone looks to support that.Strat wrote:If i feel battle fatigued it better be a good fatigue. Saving Private Ryan was a good fatigue. Every michael bay movie is an awful fatigue.
All kidding aside, I really do think this is going to be a really great film. This is something I've wanted from Star Wars since I knew what Star Wars was and the talent involved is undeniable. My expectations are sky high. We'll see what they actually deliver but based on what we've seen in the promo materials, and the cast, and the director, and everything else, there's no reason to expect less than a brilliant film. People should raise their expectations.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I really hope they make the Death Star actually feel threatening. We know it's big and powerful but we see it's destructive capabilities in the other films, sort of from a safe remove if that makes sense? The whole film really is about the Death Star in a way so if they can imbue that with a huge sense of power and danger it will be great to see. Make it like it's a huge character looming over all.
