I agree, but if it had we would not have gotten Dave A.Birds in Hell wrote:Chamberlain was arguably their best drummer, too bad it didn't work out.

Dave A deserves to be in, because this is the Pearl Jam that made Pearl Jam an HOF band

Re: Vote for PJ in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations
I'm really hoping that Tupac and Pearl Jam both go in on the same night. While I lived on the East Coast during the East-West rap wars, I was pulling for the West...I just really enjoyed that line of rap vs. what Biggie was doing. Tupac's 'Hit 'Em Up' is one of my all time favorite 'fuck you' songs ever. That's rock n roll.
About the drummer, I'd just add Dave A. to the group potentially going in and then I think you're good.

Not all 52 year olds are so insufferable and self-important. Don't defend him.Monkey_Driven wrote:52 year old not like his 32 year old self, who would have thought?

Re: Vote for PJ in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations
The idea that bands are inducted member by member is really stupid. Here is what it should look like:
1. The band as a whole gets inducted -- no specifying members, etc. "Pearl Jam" gets inducted, for the totality of their achievements and all that comes with it. That's it.
2. All full-time members past and present are at least invited to the ceremony. If one of them can't afford a ticket, his loss. But no picking and choosing here. Every band member is part of the whole story.
3. The band in its current incarnation decides how to incorporate previous members into its performance at the event, if at all.
Any other system is dumb.

But they each get individual statuettes! Do they make 'em just for the band members who attend the ceremony?

Discontinue the statues. Give all members past and present a nice certificate and make a donation on behalf of the whole band to a charity of their choice.
