Motherfucker, Florida went into automatic recount because the election was so close--Gore only lost by 537 votes! Trump could have easily said, "I will accept the results of the election as soon as all the votes are counted and each state certifies the results" (which is exactly what Gore did). His concession call and then retraction-of-his-concession call to W was embarrassing, sure, but it's not like that first call "counted" for anything.dprival78 wrote:the thing about him not accepting the election results until he sees how they go is just horrible, dangerous, rhet.. oh wait

I don't think he would concede if he lost by twenty points (and he might). Not to her.

Do any of the people who make abortion their make-or-break issue (heard a couple on NPR the other day) actually believe Trump is pro-life?McParadigm wrote:TIL Doctors will perform an abortion the day before the due date.

Wasn't Trumps answer just leaving the door open to question a gore bush type scenario? I think people are reading too much into this.

You mean an automatic recount triggered by a close vote count? A decision made after Gore had already willingly called his opponent to congratulate him based on media predictions?verb_to_trust wrote:Wasn't Trumps answer just leaving the door open to question a gore bush type scenario? What's not the same thing? Hypothetically the same scenario could play out. Obviously it wont, but for the purposes of answering the question what did people really expect him to say?McParadigm wrote:You mean an automatic recount triggered by a close vote count? Re: Election 2016
In isolation it doesn't sound too horrendous. Maybe it's overly paranoid and unnecessary 3 weeks before the election, but not too bad. In combination with his campaign rhetoric, its obvious that he probably won't concede no matter what.verb_to_trust wrote:What's not the same thing? Hypothetically the same scenario could play out. A. Given the conversation that has been happening around voter fraud, it's preposterous to pretend he was talking about losing a state by 500 votes.verb_to_trust wrote:What's not the same thing? B. Al Gore did not blame shadow monsters for RIGGING the election, the media for collusion, and the polls for intentionally lying.
C. Members of the press were not being spat on and screamed at, at Al Gore events.

"I will accept the results of the election as soon as all the votes are counted and each state certifies the results." Or, you know, "Yes" would've been an acceptable answer.verb_to_trust wrote:What's not the same thing? Hypothetically the same scenario could play out. Re: Election 2016
I just want someone to explain to me why his campaign manager and vice president are saying that he will absolutely accept the results, when he is clearly saying he won't necessarily accept the results. I don't understand this. what is happening?!

All I'm saying is that he saw an opportunity to answer the question the way he did based on how it was asked. He can explain it away even though we all know where he is really coming from.

It's just so obvious that he is not even knowledgeable on half of the issues. He just constantly resorts to his rhetoric rather than giving any kind of straight answer.

Anyhow:
Trump defended his recent claims about rampant voter fraud by citing a Pew Charitable Trust report that found millions of errors in voter registration rolls but didn’t allege any actual voting violations.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
