It is the other guy in that movie that I hate

Yeah, he's totally fine in this. He made me laugh a few times. But he's definitely doing is regular Jack Black lite thing. But I will say he's better in this than Pitch Perfect.

But it really doesn't matter because the rest of the cast is really stellar. The writing is strong. The direction is good. There's some really surprising and gorgeous cinematography. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

The movie certainly isn't going to change lives or anything. But goddamn it's fun. And much less dumb and easy than I expected.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. A lot to like here, despite the weird soundtrack

Jodoworski's Dune was.... fine.

I'm not sure what I was expecting. But it was totally fine.

Last night I was watching L'Avventura for the first time in probably the better part of a decade. Man, that movie is a stunner.

Logan and the talk surrounding it led me to find his movie Prisoners. That looks pretty good, I gotta rent it soon.

I did not care for that movie. And Jackman is probably my least favorite thing about the movie. I'm a pretty big fan of his in general. But he's fucking terrible in Prisoners. Dano and Gyllenhaal are both great, though. Gyllenhaal especially.

Other than hearing he's terrible, I'm ok with this whole post. Especially about Dano and Gyllenhaal.

I loved Prisoners! If it wasn't for needing to watch Quiz Show - this would be the next in my list to watch again
