Maybe for House, but in general they are going to continue to drop shows not owned or produced by them. Netflix has something like only 50 percent of the non-Netflix content they had 2-3 years ago. They are invested in original programming rather than paying for the rights of other shows because it will be more profitable in the long run.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. And movie? Meh. I've got Prime. And I've still got physical discs from Netflix. I can "rent" whatever.

Yea, Prime and HBO are almost enough for us; Netflix rounds out the options but that's decreasing, and then we hunt down specific shows like Louie or Samantha Bee as needed. If Netflix is moving more towards content production, I wonder if they'll ever license one of their shows to another provider? 'Coz Amazon could somehow pick up Kimmy Schmidt, it's byebye Netlix.

Aw huh.

But Netflix is the original. They've done a good job of seeing/directing the future. Until they give me reason to believe otherwise, I'll continue to trust that they know what they're doing. But, yeah, if they aren't careful they're going to make themselves largely irrelevant.
