I agree with this "stip" guy [whoever that guy isstip wrote:I kinda like the countdown to new information gimmick they have, to be honest. But this was a disappointing way to begin it. They had to know that this would be disappointing.
I think it would've been a great announcement gimmick if they had published the new album art and tracklisting (and/or release date) and saved the 2nd countdown clock for the tour.
I am pleased with this anyway, I'll definitely be at the SD show.

Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
Man, I guess I am in the minority. Tour dates are the only thing I really care about nowadays when it comes to this band. I was super stoked that the countdown led to the tour announcement. New music is just a reason to get them on the road. I haven't been fully content with an album of theirs since 2000 anyway, so I have little faith in their new output.

Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
It is pretty interesting to see so many people say over and over again that they don't care much for the band's recent output; that they don't have much faith that the next one will be good, even. But still get mad when they don't announce new music.
I mean I get it. Straw man and all that. But it's still interesting to read.

Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
I wasn't really talking about you. I didn't really have a specific poster in mind, really. Your post just made me think about how much I've seen the "I don't have faith in them anymore" sentiment over the last year or two (especially). Today, I'm sure some of those same people (though, I'm not sure, because I haven't checked specific people) feel angry that there isn't new music. Just interesting.stonefury wrote:For the record, you will never find any sort of comments from me. So there are no news of the tracklist for the current album yet?
