Heck, even Franco says it's content is "almost unfilmable

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah I like Cannibal Holocaust. His talk tonight was preceded by a screening of the film but I couln't make it down on time to catch it.
But hooooly shit what a wonderful guy. Just a hysterically funny, sweet dude. He told us all about the making of the film, the international backlash (including a story I'd never heard about the Colombian intelligentsia chasing him out of Bogotá and forcing him to spend a week stranded in San Andres). He talked about learning his trade under Rossellini, his struggles directing Richard Lynch at the height of his alcoholism, and his mixed feelings about the current state of horror, gore, and the "found footage" subgenre. He didn't mince words when talking about how much he hates Umberto Lenzi. Every story was hilarious.
I got to chat with him briefly before the talk because I'm friends with one of the organizers of the festival. A really warm, friendly guy. Now I really want to see Ballad in Blood.

He didn't speak on it at length (nobody asked) but he did mention something about how the turtle was already going to be killed and eaten by the natives, and all they did was film it.

Big fan of Sleeping beauty's art direction. I wish Disney would have gone with this angular, abstract art style more often. Pocahontas was influenced by it, but that's not a very pretty movie.
