That's what happens when you apologize. People pile on. Let that be a lesson to everyone.

My favorite band is Pearl Jam, so clearly I am the wrong person to ask.

Do you guys think its a horrible idea to read the news first thing in the morning? It kinda ruins my entire day. SOme guy jumps off a bridge with his two kids. I have no control over that. My life isn't improved by knowing this. There are no actions I can take based on this knowledge. Why do I need to know it? Especially in the morning. More and more I see the value in selective ignorance.

I learned a long time ago not to expose to certain things, because all it will accomplish is making me feel awful.

Against all MO a bill to ban fracking in Ireland is going before our parliament soon.

Our govt have literally given away massive oil and gas fields to shell off our coast.

Lots of corruption and secret payments to the ministers at the time though no proof ever surfaced.

Be interesting to see if this bill passes.

Internet comment section fun:

i am a very openminded person who is not prejudiced against gay people even if they are disgusting to most normal persons, but i have to agree with mr trump about being against them marrying since it will encourage a lot of young people to become gay in order to be more fashionable or have more sexpartners. also, we need to encourage people to have more babies which gay people cannot do except by adopting those little chinese babies who are cute but can be dangerous

I drove by a Catholic school today, and there was a truck outside with a sign in the back that read "make America great again and keep babies in the womb full term"

Absolutely. I feel it's affecting an entire generation of people, having to bear the weight of the entire world's bad news at any given time. Not long ago people weren't aware of what was going on outside of their own county, now we have to hear about every heartbreak from every corner of the world. It's too goddamned much.
I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

I can say it doesn't help when your personal world has it's own share of tragedies: my wife had a surgery go bad in August 2015 and she's been struggling with constant pain since then. That stress plus the stress of the election season and in general the bad news coming from so many different places has made me quite the short-tempered person. And I work in a position for the director of the company where lots of people have to interact with me. Luckily I haven't been too bad but there are times when other employees definitely get the worst of me.

Staying informed is important. What is just as important is turning off the news and going outside and talking to people. Getting involved with others. Life is not as terrible as the news makes it seem

RIP Janet Reno. The vast right wing conspiracy hated her...

Do you think SNL would have been able to get away today with the skits they did on Reno in the 90s?

I'd say they had pretty good reasons.
