I enjoy thip. As much as he doesn't want to hear that, it's the truth.

This is why I admire your perseverance... I'd have pissed 12 more people off if verb responded to my compliment in that manner. Your the epitome of rm class

True champions capitalize on these nuances. I personally think Madden is lucky. If the cubs had lost, all you'd be hearing is "Why the F did he take out Lester?"

I genuinely have no idea what that means.

But in the spirit of earnest honestly, I hate rubbernecking.

No, people just think it's funny that two weeks ago you were bragging about your cake and explaining why it didn't matter whether or not you got to eat it because the important thing is that you had it, and now you've taken a bite and you're making sure everyone knows how good it tastes.
Yeah that and you're actually a White Sox fan

I should give you credit for setting yourself up to be able to brag no matter what happened in the postseason. It was a smart move.

Being a casual fan of a team has got to be awesome. You never feel disappointed by anything, yet you still get to celebrate with everyone else when they win.

Speaking as a conscientious and responsible casual fan of the Kansas City Royals, I can tell you that a win doesn't mean anywhere near as much to you as it does to a "real fan." I loved that KC won. But most of my emotion and energy extended to my friends who are lifelong die-hards. Those fans got an experience that I won't have until my Chiefs win the Super Bowl. I'll never know how that feels. I'm so happy for my Royal fans and I'm equally happy now for the Cubs fans out there. So awesome. But being a casual fan is remains hollow at the end of the day.

I'd call it more of a Classic B move. I had this strategy all lined up in 2001 but RM didn't exist yet.

I'm not a meth addict. I'm not obama. I'm not a white sox fan. Although as a kid I did watch a few games from the organ box while Nancy Faust played for the animals in attendance.

That, too... but it was taking out Lester that nearly cost the cubs the series.

What about burning Chapman in game 6 when it wasn't necessary?

That was a really dumb move. I understand those types of aggressive decisions in some situations, but Chapman was already overworked at that point and they knew they were going to use him the next day. If he hadn't pitched in a while or had a day off before Game 7 it would have made sense, but it was just stupid.

Since apparently everyone has been finding these "Last time the Cubs one the World Series..." things, I thought this was a fun one:

Since the last time the Cubs won the World Series, five different franchises have one a World Series, moved to a different city, and one another World Series. The Braves won in Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta.

I liked the most:
Since the last time the Cubs won the World Series, Adrian Gonzalez just rounded 3rd base.

Another major historic moment in sport just happened in Chicago.

Ireland have beaten the New Zealand all blacks for the first time in rugby at soldier field. first time ever. (111 years). 40-28

Only the 7th team to ever beat them :)

Huge party everywhere tonight:)

So I still can't believe this happened. I've been a season ticket holder for 17 years, and I've sat through some long, cold, miserable games watching teams that could've been mistaken for high school teams. I've seen teams come out of nowhere and roll like they may not be stopped, only to come crashing down. I've also seen teams blow through the regular season and be favorites to win the WS, and again fall flat on their asses. But I've never seen a team like this. Even walking out of Wrigley after Game 5, there was a feeling like that there was no way they could be stopped, which is completely different how people felt walking out of Game 6 of the NLCS in 2003.

Frankly, I don't know what to feel or how to act right now; it still hasn't set in. All I know that the sports world in which I lived has forever changed. And I'm pretty happy about that. Go baseball. And go Cubs.
