BBC: Planet Earth II
Not sure when this is getting to the States, but it began here tonight, and was a thing of beauty - what the BBC does best. There's a sequence involving iguanas that literally had my entire household on the edge of their seats.

I'm going to be incredibly sad when David Attenborough shuffles off.

I am excited for this too. Also excited because I thought D Attenborough had died. Must have confused him w someone else. So I am just totally playing with house money now

They filmed in 4K, so it's definitely on the way at some point.Monkey_Driven wrote:I want them to release a 4K version.

I just remember the original Planet Earth was one of the first "holy shit, HD is way better than SD" moments. I bet a 4K version would be a similar experience.ABNorman wrote:They filmed in 4K, so it's definitely on the way at some point.Monkey_Driven wrote:I want them to release a 4K version.

I saw the iguana footage on reddit this morning and it was fucking gripping.ABNorman wrote:Not sure when this is getting to the States, but it began here tonight, and was a thing of beauty - what the BBC does best. Yeah, this would be gorgeous in 4K - and they filmed in HDR as well, so a nice shiny new TV/monitor would be a real experience.Monkey_Driven wrote:I just remember the original Planet Earth was one of the first "holy shit, HD is way better than SD" moments.
