But I'll be shocked if La La Land isn't this year's winner. This movie looks.... well, it looks like everything I want a movie to be.
Umm... HELLO... Rogue One
That's honestly one of the others that I expect to be up at the top.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Lol at Josh Trank. "Greatest Achievment: Chronicle". "Movie that caused problems: Fantastic Four". Pretty sure both those movies sucked, not sure why anyone is surprised he hasn't done more.

Yea, there's some good films scattered throughout. I didn't realize Debra Granik (the director of Winter's Bone) hadn't done anything else. That film was great. Also, her second film was called Down to the Bone. Then she did Winter's Bone. And now she's adapting Russell Banks's Rule of the Bone. What's the deal with bones, amirite?

I made that same exact observation to my wife a few weeks ago. I really want Granik to direct the film adaptation of Eileen. I actually want that to happen so badly that as soon as I finished the book I looked up purchasing the adaptation rights. But Scott fucking Rudin already has them (of course) and I'm sure he'll find a way to cock it up. And no way in hell will Granik get to direct it. Which fucking sucks. Maybe I should start a Twitter campaign?

Collider has a massive hard-on for Trank.

I saw The Canyons yesterday.

Its such a flawed movie, but at the same time there is a beautiful cinematography and a few really cool shots. Its like im more drawn to it because its flawed.
