Now THAT is fucking interesting.
Where is this stated?
JJ says it in the commentary track on the new TFA 3D Blu Ray release.
“One of the new relationships that we were focusing on was between Kylo Ren and Rey. They’ve never met but he’s heard of this girl.”
Kinda puts a kink in more than a few fan theories out there. And I LOVE it.
wow, that is interesting regarding Ren hearing of Rey....are they the same age??

I just feel the compulsion to point out that I was right about the commentary being on the 2D disc, so you can all suck my dick.

So in that commentary JJ says it is Reys parents that leave her on Jakku.

We may not be seeing the physical representation of it, just how she imagines it rather than remembers it.

We don't obviously know yet if that thread will survive into Rian Johnsons story but it might.

I can't justify buying a blu Ray player just for this. But it sounds like a cool set.

Watched the 3D version of this last night with the wife and kids. The 3D transfer in places is outstanding - one shot of a star destroyer that felt like you could just reach out and touch from the other side of the room. Had my BB8 following along with the movie too - chirping away at certain scenes.

Had been long enough since I'd last watched this that it was a fun watch again

To apologise to LV apparently the commentary is on both the 2D and 3D discs. Still. Can't justify it though.

That shot of the finaliser was really the only shot that popped in the cinema, Dave. Good to hear they made a great transfer though.
