Lol. It was madness when BRL would be on the clock for hours, come in, post a bad joke, not pick someone, and then disappear again.

Because everyone else had second baseman already, and Baerga and Utley were reaches.
I mean... I know WHY, I'm just surprised because I think he's better than most people's starters.

He's about the same. The Sanberg/Biggio/Boone/Kent/Alomar/Knoblach best seasons of that era are all pretty close in terms of oWAR. Baerga being a switch hitter helps. Utley? That one I didnt get with Knoblach still on the board didnt make sense.
I guess that's fair... there's definitely a good group of 2B in the same range. I just happened to have Knoblauch at the top of the group (with Biggio by himself in a tier above).

Biggio is $500,000 better than any other 2B .

yep. Although i would caution you against going too much by WhatIf $ figures. They dont always translate into on field sim success.

The first few times we did this I would just kind of wing it with the draft, and then I started strategizing and checking WAR for everyone. I was much more successful when winging it, so I'm back to that this time.

97 Biggio is the best 2B season of that span by any measure.

Well, except oWAR (alomar and boone both have better oWAR in that span)

and Knoblach is equal (alomar 7.7, Boone 7.6, Knoblach and Biggio 7.5)

So all very close.

Nor should you. Biggio would have been my first choice as well.

Id also like to point out how much it sucks that this tournament ends the year before the 2006 Tigers.

Anything that spans 1991 to 2005 is perfect.
