I get that some of them have families an dont want to be away that long but good lord - they are rock stars and they are home with their families far more than the average working stiff. Man up Do multiple legs at least. Take a couple weeks off and hit the rest of the goddamn country. This 25 show tour shit in the same markets every few years is laughable.

Also, there are some cities on this tour they haven't played in a long time:
Worcester (have they ever played here?)
Baltimore (when was the last time they played this market...1998?)
Charlottesville (I'm fairly certain they've never played here)
Charlotte (first time since 2003)
Dallas (first time since 2003)
Oklahoma City (first time since 2003)
Phoenix (first time since 2003)
Portland (only 4 shows since 1993)
Spokane (first show since 6/17/1993)
Seattle (sad though it may be, only 2 shows in the last 10 years in their hometown)
I'm sure they continue touring next spring or summer like they did in 2010.

agree, i had fly to one and drive a day to another one on last tours
The band is always gonna have complete psychos that will go whereever the band goes, but as certain folk get older, like myself, it tends to slow down. I've been to 30 shows since 1998, and since 2008, the shows while still a great experience are becoming a little more predictable, and I think that was bound to happen the more I saw them.
There is a good chance I'll see an opener and closer I already saw, I don't think they are gonna promote new material like they did in the early 2000's because the backspacer material fell off the 2009 and 2010 tours pretty quick. I'll never hear parting ways so I have just accepted the way they are now. Gone for me are the days of flying to florida for the VFC finale or going up to canada.

If I had to guess, you can fit more people up front with GA than seats... so $$$$. Plus it pacifies all the 10c'ers whose numbers were over 250k and thus would otherwise never get to see the band up close. They are just profiteering from good service to newer customers. Win-win mah-fucker.

Im really curious what they are thinking with it, after so long having the floor seated, now they they are all nearly 50 and the average fans are in their 30s or 40s, now they bring in standing room ga, maybe they do figure we will be tamer since we are older. Im pretty sure Im gonna be wishing it was the old way pretty quick

The average working stiff is gone 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, some much more...
i aint going to do the math but my point stands.
How does the fact that the average middle class person is over-worked factor into a PJ tour? Also, how could we possibly know how hard they do or don't work?

1) Lotto is fair and efficient. Now issue with it and all the putz's that say tickets will be harder now don't understand how supply/demand works. It's the same as before, just w/o having to push F5 for hours. And it's more fair.
2) Ticket prices are surprisingly low. That was unexpected.
3) The Pit/GA thing is definitely to get more bodies in the venue; they make more money off of it and it's more fun for the band to perform to. That said, it really sucks. Where will low fan club # reserved seats be? The back of the floor has some of the worst seats in the venue. Ten years ago this would have been cool; now, not so much. Will be interesting to see how much fan club only pit tickets scalp for on ebay and craigslist. I bet a ton of money.
4) Agree on the announcement order; should have led w/ the single or album then announce the shitty short tour that misses 3/4 of the country.

I haven't put my name in yet, but I'm 99% confident they'll have a new album out. I'm only holding out right now while I figure out logistics. I'm almost equidistant from Philly & Brooklyn.
