Will the player with the worst record at the midway point have the first waiver pick?cutuphalfdead wrote:I just adjusted the spreadsheet with a 26th player/14th pitcher for games 31-60. Which will allow us to do the mid season single add/drop. If we elect to go with option A I'll just have to add those lines to a few more games because the halfway point will be slightly earlier.
Link is in the OP, but no one should start filling out their scoresheet until we've finalized which schedule we're going with.

Is this the usual protocol in fantasy baseball?CopperTom wrote:Will the player with the worst record at the midway point have the first waiver pick?

Works for me.
Also, Option B is up 4-2, so it looks like we're doing divisions. Do you want to do them randomly? Geographically? By age? By hair? We could put teams that have won titles in one division and those who haven't in the other. I'm up for any of it.

:: Waits for phil to suggest we put all of the American teams in one division and all the Canadian ones in the other one, with the winners facing off in the World Series ::

Yeah, I'm not ready to give up on Option A, yet. It's clearly superior. Think about it, guys. Change your vote.

If the schedules were balanced, I'd agree. But with you playing the teams in your division twice as many times, I think it'll make for a better stretch run. Especially with the division winners going right to the World Series.

Also, the playoff structure is better in option A. The best team gets rewarded with a bye to the World Series.

I mean. It wouldn't be unprecedented for the option the most people voted for to lose. The Argonaut wrote:Yeah, I'm not ready to give up on Option A, yet. It's clearly superior. Think about it, guys. Change your vote.
Great, now I made myself sad again.

We don't have a good way to guarantee parity in the divisions either. So potentially a team that's third overall could get fast tracked to the World Series.

Yeah but in MLB if you win a weak division you don't get fast tracked to the final round.
