You notice this in the betting markets, too. Bookmakers usually give the Cowboys an extra point or two in order to pry money from people who hang onto the narrative that they're a marquee franchise; this especially happens in seasons when they're average or below (it happens with the Packers, too).Orpheus wrote:And America and the media latched on to the Cowboys in the 70's. I don't play fantasy, but I am a long time NFL pick em league against the spread guy, and what I've learned the most is just how scary correct Vegas is on almost always nailing the spread.Simple Torture wrote:You notice this in the betting markets, too. If the casinos couldn't make money off it, it wouldn't exist anymore, you know what I'm sayin'?Coach wrote:I don't play fantasy, but I am a long time NFL pick em league against the spread guy, and what I've learned the most is just how scary correct Vegas is on almost always nailing the spread.Simple Torture wrote:You notice this in the betting markets, too. Waiting around for the Sunday night game is the worse. IF it started at 8, that would be so much better.Simple Torture wrote:If the casinos couldn't make money off it, it wouldn't exist anymore, you know what I'm sayin'?Coach wrote:I don't play fantasy, but I am a long time NFL pick em league against the spread guy, and what I've learned the most is just how scary correct Vegas is on almost always nailing the spread.Simple Torture wrote:You notice this in the betting markets, too. Thompson needs to stop obsessing over late round comp picks (they may only get a 5th or 6th this year) and make a few smart FA splashes. Other GMs like Newsome, Elway, and Belichick know how to shop in FA while still getting plenty of comp picks.Orpheus wrote:I think part of it for GB is that their management strategy has finally stopped working. They have razor thin depth in a lot of places. WRs have been taking a ton of RB snaps cause there's just nobody to play. It's a serious problem.

I don't mind the teams I just hate Airman's so obvious favoring of the cowboys every time he calls their gamesGreen Habit wrote:DAL/PIT is a guaranteed RATINGS BONANZA any time it happens.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Oh good another cowboys game being called by Aikman

Yeah, I understand the philosophy behind it, but the roster just isn't what it used to be a couple years ago. Players like 2nd string running backs are usually bargains and they probably wish they had gotten one right now.Green Habit wrote:Thompson needs to stop obsessing over late round comp picks (they may only get a 5th or 6th this year) and make a few smart FA splashes. They brought Ronnie Hillman in for a visit but didn't sign him because he would have cost the Packers a precious 7th round comp pick, for the incomparable Scott Tolzien, that's probably not even going to make the 32-pick limit. Hillman re-signed with the Broncos and then went to the rival Vikings.Orpheus wrote:Yeah, I understand the philosophy behind it, but the roster just isn't what it used to be a couple years ago. That was a true Michael Irvin Tribute by Dez with multiple pushoffs to catch that TD.

Kind of wish Zeke would've slid right there, but it's hard not to take the TD when it's presented like that.
