My concern is the extra seven days/14 games could see an ever steeper than usual decline in interest from teams who are already out of it.

The schedule right now is a non-division one. My regular computer is basically done for, and it was easier to create a new one quickly on the computer I'm using by keeping it non-division. The debate over which to go with went from clear answer to vague degrees of different answers pretty fast anyways, so for now I guess we'll just go with the standard setup.
