I have no idea why.
Shel's albums actually sound a lot like Cat Stevens.
Maybe that's why, and I just thought I had an original idea :haha:

The singer from Crash Test Dummies should make a Johnny Cash album

Thanks, Obama!
As the parts become more durable and maintenance on the machines are reduced, Sycomen reckon that it means that the timeline for pressing records can be reduced from an average of 16 weeks down to two. Essentially, it’s making the whole production flow cheaper and more efficient.

so ive upgraded my system as some of you now.

Holy balls am i happy about it too. The new speakers are definitely more of what i was looking for. My prior ones were far more muddy, lost clarity at the low ends and had no mid range whatsoever.

These new puppies? Oh baby. Have to roll off the mid on my receiver. I also upgraded to the Ortofon 2MBlue stylus. Even more clarity.

What a fun dumb hobby!

Just picked up Okonokos for $30 today from Bull Moose. Was just about to link to it for you bums but it appears that little deal is no longer. Back up to $47

That record is so great. I lucked into an original pressing of it a few years ago, but it was good to see it back in print. I got the re-release of It Still Moves likr 2 months ago and still haven't cracked it open. Maybe I'll do it soon and whisper "Strat..." into the wind as it spins.

Hilarious! I haven't really listened to the remastered version either, digitally or on record. Let me know if you get around to it and if its really a huge improvement or not!

Hit up a record show yesterday and scored these, almost all of them first run releases (minus the Coltrane):

Currently debating if I should grab Mezzanine - Massive Attack, or A Moon Shaped Pool - Radiohead
