I know guys, im just kidding.
Though i just haven't had a desire to torrent music anymore since I have gotten on the stream train. Music I listen to at home is generally records, and the rest is while driving/at work/exercising so i can't tell the difference at 320 anyway.

Sorry for bottom paging bro.ridleybradout wrote:The saddest thing is what.cd was the only dependable source for literally thousands of out-of-print albums, compilations, cd singles etc., not to mention 'the' place for sharing vinyl rips and unknown artists' own music.
What was the source of most tracks from the Sleater-Kinney B-Sides & Rarities compilation I made, among others.
Hopefully the whack-a-mole principle will apply here
Also, I was terrible at keeping my ratios up

Re: What? Waffles? The BitTorrent thread
I'm sure there will be a few other trackers that pop up soon, and I'm on enough non-music trackers to get into them. But it's going to take like a year for a new site to rise above the crop and then yeeeeeeeears for one to get up to even a small fraction of What's complexity and breadth. People are like, "Well, What came up 4 days after Oink went down!" That was still in the early, early days of private trackers, though, and I feel like it's going to take forever to bring the best What users back into the fold at a new site.

Pay for music you losers. You are part of the problem and partially to blame for Trump being elected

As ridley pointed out, there was tons of long out-of-print stuff available in FLAC on What that isn't available to buy anywhere, even if you wanted to.
Huge swathes of recorded music history isn't available on streaming services. I can't see myself ever going down that road.

I know. I understand the complaint. And I don't try to bullshit around the issue and lie to myself. I steal music, I've just made peace with it.

back to the topic at hand, i could never figure out how to keep my ratio up. And once my classic IPOD was stolen i lost all interest in it. I can't put all the music i want to have on my phone so streaming is really tickling my fancy lately. 99% of the time It has everything I want. Also, i have figured out how to input music from my hard drive (that isn't on spotify) onto Spotify playlists . Which has been a game changer. I had a bunch of neil, prince, live pearl jam, etc. that i could play through spotify

Re: What? Waffles? The BitTorrent thread
For the longest time I could upload and get a good ration on waffles but not on what. It turned out I was using a version of UTorrent that wasn't on what's approved client list. Once I upgraded to the correct version everything worked fine.Strat wrote:is it strange that i felt a huge sense of guilt after the election? Whatever.cutuphalfdead wrote:I'm proud of you. Re: What? Waffles? The BitTorrent thread
Yeah, the saddest part about this is the loss of the single best and most complete music library on the planet. I said before (to much scoffing) that I would have gladly paid $50 a month for my What.cd subscription, and that stands. I've recently been noticing time and again how shitty most music streams sound, and that just sucks balls.
And I'm onboard with this too:

What was such a part of my "Sit down in front of my computer and waste time" routine that I've already clicked it like 15 times last night and this morning.
