It's infuriating because it shouldn't have made a god damned difference.Lament wrote:It's still crazy to think that this is almost certainly the only reason you guys didn't repeat.cutuphalfdead wrote:What's more impressive is it's the wrong Pedro. 1999 was the more dominant option between the franchise tournaments.

Re: Steroid Era (1986-2005) Tournament: DAY THREE RESULTS
It's too bad we don't still have access to the box score from Game 6 of the White Sox-Red Sox series. It went into extra innings and neither starter got a decision, but I vaguely remember 2000 Pedro having a "good, but not great" outing. I'm probably wrong though.cutuphalfdead wrote:It's infuriating because it shouldn't have made a god damned difference.Lament wrote:It's still crazy to think that this is almost certainly the only reason you guys didn't repeat.cutuphalfdead wrote:What's more impressive is it's the wrong Pedro. 1999 was the more dominant option between the franchise tournaments.

I've been shutout twice in four games since my 29-run game against Skitch.

That bullpen strategy surely worked out for you in Game 2 Lament. Sheesh.
Also, three times already I've had a starting pitcher give up 8 ER and get the win. Classic Whatif.

Nice. Meanwhile, Randy Johnson is 0-2 with a 2.65 ERA.TBAMTS wrote:Also, three times already I've had a starting pitcher give up 8 ER and get the win. Classic Whatif.

Fun Skitch Stats
In a game that my pitchers struck out 16 men, they allowed 23 runs.
My Bullpen has a 10.86 ERA and a 2.15 WHIP... and it is 4-0.
OPS (excluding pitchers) is .955

When I saw that, part of me was psyched, but part of me thought "Now it's gonna be a letdown when WhatIf goes back to not knowing how to use my bullpen after seeing them prove they're capable of using it right." But man, for one game it was perfect.TBAMTS wrote:That bullpen strategy surely worked out for you in Game 2 Lament. Sheesh.
Clearly Johnson is a bust. You should probably waive him at the All-Star break.philpritchard wrote:Nice. Meanwhile, Randy Johnson is 0-2 with a 2.65 ERA.TBAMTS wrote:Also, three times already I've had a starting pitcher give up 8 ER and get the win. Classic Whatif.

For the record, I have my stats, and they're up to date. Photobucket seems to have been broken for the past few days though, so I have nowhere to upload them.

There is no in between with my hitters. Five guys over .300 (including three over .400), five guys under .200.

Re: Steroid Era (1986-2005) Tournament: DAY FOUR RESULTS
Three of my starters (Hoiles, Salmon, Aurilia) have OPSs that are lower than the top three batting averages (Schmidt, Thomas, Bonds) on my team. I probably should replace them, but for some reason I want to ride this out for a bit...

Lament, please remove Schilling from my rotation and replace him with Bartolo Colon.
