Trump demands an apology from the cast of Hamilton.
Ugh. This is going to be a long 4 years.

I've calmed down since election night, but those tweets about Hamilton are really upsetting and concerning. The man is un-American.

Oh yeah, here's the rude and unsafe harassment:
It just proves that Trump is as thin-skinned and blocked off from reality as ever. He always will be.

Whipping up the crowd like that does create an unsafe environment for Pence and his family to be in.

He addressed Pence respectfully, quelled the boos when they started to arise, and ended his address with a call for unity. He wasn't "whipping up the crowd" at all.Bi_3 wrote:Whipping up the crowd like that does create an unsafe environment for Pence and his family to be in.

Yeah, I think that's pretty ridiculous. He's extremely respectful and cordial.theplatypus wrote:He addressed Pence respectfully, quelled the boos when they started to arise, and ended his address with a call for unity. That being said, this is a very smart political thing for Trump to do, and I would expect to see a lot more of it in the next four years. Whatever you chalk it up to, whether economic travails, disdain for the media, disdain for elites, racial and cultural discomfort, all or none of the above, Trump just doesn't really work and never reaches the heights he does without one part of the country hating another part. And this is a perfect way to keep that blood up. "Look at those fancy elites booing our Vice President!" So on and so forth. He won't keep power long without continuing to stoke that resentment, so we'll continue to see it.
Of course, that's not at all a commentary on how terribly sad it is that the President's Twitter feed for the next four years will be in large part dedicated to pitting Americans against each other, but just on the politics, it does nothing but help him.

I'd be surprised if he kept tweeting like this after inauguration. I have a feeling it'll become a more generic account, like it was in the last week of the election.

I honestly don't know if he can. He could only hold it together two days after his election before starting in about paid protestors egged on by the media. I just think he won't be able to help himself.

So Pence needs a safe space where he can't be ridiculed or challenged? Like at liberal colleges for big whiny babies? The Argonaut wrote:

That's one perspective. But it also might be that the actor intentionally created a situation where he alerted a still bitter crowd that their enemy was among them, similair to the fear he suggested that Trumps election win has caused in historically vulnerable populations. He transferred their feeling of fear to Pence and his family. It's that type of pseudo-irony-revenge that is popular right now, but it's also an intimidation tactic.theplatypus wrote:He addressed Pence respectfully, quelled the boos when they started to arise, and ended his address with a call for unity. Getting called out to angry, bitter crowds is something that should only be done to the media, and only by somebody running for president.Bi_3 wrote:That's one perspective.
