Great news. I understand that PJ concerts are essential for a lot of people, but I think as a band they need a new album more than a tour right now. Then they can tour with a new album, which I would love to go see. Hopefully a return to form (as with every album according to the press).

Yeah, this for me is a great...pretty cool to now they are actually going to hit the studio.

In fairness lads even the studio aspect of it sounds sketchy.

A band should be a commitment not a past time.

Pearl jam were never a gang though. They should be but they aren't. Say what you want about U2 but they're a gang. They hang out together and even holiday together. Wish PJ had that dynamic.

Yeah i know what you mean, but i think they found out a pretty interesting dynamic back in the day because they werent a gang.

Im ok with them going to the studio and writing music. Im sure they will play live next year too, maybe a shorter tour than this year.

I really don't care about Pearl Jam touring anymore. If they stopped touring forever and started putting out albums every 2 years, I'd be happy.

I would love more recorded music from Pearl Jam. They can back off on the touring a bit now and just start challenging themselves in the studio. That would be fine by me But i still need a pj show every couple years.

that's exciting. sounds like they may put their heads down and make something genuinely important to them. and it's good to hear they won't be rushing to get it done by certain tour dates, or have like two shows before the record comes out where they don't play any newies (like what happened with backspacer). very promising stuff. you go girls.
