Passively rewatching season 3 and I think it's interesting how clearly you can tell which episodes were originally worked on for season 2. The jump in animation is pretty staggering.

one of my favorite simpsons gags is when the kids are excited to see an r-rated movie, and it's barton fink

I Married Marge is such a great episode. Sure it's sweet but I'd forgotten that it's also loaded with laughs.

I think I don't like The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson. It feels like a series of generic "tourists in New York City" skits rather than an actual Simpsons episode. Some good jokes but overall kind of weak.

I still watch the new ones; tonight's was actually pretty decent. This line in particular made me laugh out loud:
