My wife has been re-watching this. I have mixed feelings about this show.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. It's definitely old-school episodes television, which isn't something I'm typically interested in. But there's something about it...the Aaron Sorkin-esque cadence to the dialogue without the Sorkin-esque preachiness; the idea of a small town populated entirely by really strong, albeit one-dimensional characters; plus a really hot MILF in the leading role.
I really like you so im not going to read that.

We're three (out of four) episodes into the new series and I regret to tell you all that it's terrible.

Man, they blew it. They really blew it.

My wife loves this show but she said these new episodes are a little "member berries-ish." I hope this saying catches on.

I had to Google what this means but I agree.

I was hesitant about mentioning how disappointing I thought the new episodes were to my wife in case she was really into them and I harshed her buzz but I was relieved to find out she felt exactly the same.

do you normally live in fear of your wife's emotions?

Yes, to be perfectly honest.

My wife is watching this without me right now. Regardless of quality, how likely is she to be in tears the next time I go into the other room?

We are five eps in and no tears yet.
Yeah, I'm talking the new season though. There were plenty of cry-fests when we watched the original series.

Everything's a-okay so far.
