Leslie Odom Jr has a new Christmas album that I am very much looking forward to devouring.

I made a Christmas playlist last year. I generally dislike the 65,000 different covers of every Christmas song, but these are some of my favorites:

I couple of my favorite traditional songs:

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Have a Holly Jolly Christmas (Burl Ives' original)
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting Over an Open Fire)

Holy crap, that was beautiful. Took a turn I totally didn't see coming and it got me. I've listened like five times in a row now.

I'm a pretty big sucker for She & Him's first Christmas record. But that may not be an argument to your statement.

I've been working on my "Xmas Mix" for years at this point. Maybe I should finish it now. I even collected some vinyl transfers of tracks that are hard to find in good quality (Bing Crosby, Feliz Navidad). It will be a smash.

I'd love to hear it once it's ready to go.

Someone sent me a transfer of the first pressing (1947?) of the original version of "White Christmas", which as far as I know has only been released on CD in bad quality with stereo echo and shit, because the original tape is lost. "Feliz Navidad" I couldn't find on CD in good quality either. Got that from a first pressing too. Also got some things from a 78/45 collector that don't appear to circulate (some Gene Autry metal parts, amongst other things). I'm trying to be methodical and careful about it, but I've gotten too lazy.
