It's cool, I guess. But I'm bummed that we know already. Would have been a fun surprise, even with the knowledge of various theories. Whatever.
That you believe that is worrying but also shows lucasfilm know what they're doing. This was a misdirect. We all thought she was Luke's kid all year. Here we are exactly a year later with a new theory *they gave us*.
Cmon. Think it through. We're either being thrown a total misdirect or nothing. And she's nobody's and just a force baby.

I didn't. It's the one thing that was way too obvious.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Thing is, though, dime, I never thought she was Luke's kid. Never, not once.
I'm still hoping beyond hope that she's not anyone's heir. I don't want her to be a force baby either. That's fucking stupid. I'd rather her be a Skywalker or even a fucking Jawa. But it seems beyond clear to me that they're trying their best to dance around what's really going on.
It's probably for the best, really. The more people that suspect it and accept it going into the movie, the less backlash there will be.

Agreed. But it's Disney. Know what the one of the most commonly used phrases in all Star Wars is?
'I'll come back for you'.
Plus Disney historically loves killing off mothers. Bambi lion king etc
There's gonna be unhappy people no matter what way they go with it. If theyve even decided. I can see that reveal being put off til 9

I agree with that last part. I'm not saying it WILL happen. I think they SHOULD reveal it in 8. But I will not at all be surprised if it's not revealed until 9.
If there was a movie about Luke's days in between Empire and Jedi, would you be alright with a different actor playing Luke? Or a movie about Luke just after Jedi.

I'd be 100% fine with a different actor playing "young Luke." I think it's a dumb idea to make those movies in general. But a different actor playing that character has nothing to do with it. I think getting hung up on a different actor is a little silly, personally. Makes zero sense to me.
